my kid does the same  thing, shes 4 and loves to watch me catch fish for her so she can "kill em dead"

collatta - the rainbow ended up at 4.5 lbs. 

As for hitting it, well...how do you kill 'em ???

She hates when I release fish because that means she can't bonk 'em and eat 'em ;D
