Me and BB went out tonight for an hour and a half.  We did real good.  we got at least 15 up to the ice, and had a few more on the hook and decided not to real them up as we can feel that they were not real big,   when this happens we just give lots of slack and they usually shake the hook out   ;)  (we need to sharpen our hooks)   anyways,    most fish were gorging themselves on row.   I suspect they are Burbot eggs,   but all I know is when they hit the ice,  they puke up mouthfulls of eggs,   one guy even puked up small rocks and stuff,  as you can see in the pic,    Kokanee must be feeding on the eggs too,  and the burbot puked up a lot of those fish too,  as you can see in the pics,   almost every fish puked up something.   It was a great night,  but the ice was real sketchy.   I bet it will be gone by Monday.   We had floater suits.  anyway,  as we cleaned a few of the fish i noticed something dark under the meat,  it was in a sort of hollow cavity in the meat,  I dug it out with a knife,  one was coiled up and one wasnt,   I guess these are worms,   but they look dead :-\   anyways can anyone confirm,  this is the first time I saw this,   Oh   and 1 nice burb had a nasty big wound on its side,   I can only guess it was a laker,   but it has to be a big one as the burb was big too.  anyway.   it was fun, and all we had on our hooks was a piece of  orange yarn

I got a little video too if anyone wants to see BB catch a little tiny Burb     lol

Nice job Ise and BB, Talk about taking it right to the end of the season. Those are wierd worms never seen black ones before. Well rumor has it somebody caught a big char there and killed it getting it on the ice last week. Sad if true. Well just waiting to see how tgf does up north then I guess its all open water from now on. Tight lines

rite on! way to finish off the season, two thumbs up!!!!

Those eggs are weird hey- do u think they are a little big to be burby eggs?
sounds like a good time with the warm weather...
whatever it was that messed up the ling id like to catch!!!
have to push the boat out now to your holes and just sit in it and jig :) :)
I wonder if worms like that come in thru the mouth from say when they are eating eggs off the bottom and burrow into a cavity of some kind??

I can only assume they are burbot eggs.   What else spawns this time of year?    I have no clue if they are even worms....    they are dead and I dont care,  it was on a small fish, and I ate worse than that before  lol

way too early for it to be kokanee eggs. they spawn in the fall. could be anything from sucker to rainbow eggs.

One of the locals said the Kokanee were spawning now too    :cookoo:     I dont believe it.  weird.
Remps....  I was fishing in 80 FOW and I went out again last night,  and got 5.     Yes   row would work good right now,    I switched up my lures to imitate row.  it works good.   I suspect this weekend is the last weekend for coo-coo ice fishing.   be safe everyone

uh ohh- last weekend at coo coo- i bet theirs gonna be some lunkers hittin the top of the ice- good luck!
-Ya coo coo and tacheeda lakes i believe kokanee spawn in the winter- unlike many other lakes- kinda kewl i think..
-Theres only one way to be sure Ise De By-- this weekend you guys catch couple 40" burbs and the eggs that shoot out of their mouth have a good chance to have already been fertilized- you spool up the egg incubator (or just a big bucket of water and keep a candle burning under it for a few months) or wait-its not heated under the lake- duh---just put them eggs in a bucket and hatch them babies up!!! :o :o
Kokanee with eggs gushing out of them are like caviar or the sushi with the lil eggs on them when your really hungry for the ling-the secret lies in having lots of Kokannee and eggs.

just dont forget the warm mittens cuz kokanee can give you shivers similar to the pee shakes...

Heres a pic of Ikura-i believe salmon eggs are used for this one-yet is it close to kokanee eggs??

~i knew id catch you scrolling back up to look at the last pic ;) ;)

Yes those are kokanee eggs. I heard once from someone that Cluculz lake was one of the 3 lakes in the province where kokanee are spawning close to this time. Maybe some fisheries biologist on here can confirm ;)
Fun last outing. Bet the Coo Coo Hilton is gonna be up and running next season. ;D
