Buffalo Lake

Fished Buffalo Lake, at Scenic Sands today for a few hours. 10" of solid black ice and a few inches of crusted snow over top.

Had lots of hit and run's on the smelts on my tip-ups, finally switching over to a quick strike rig landed me a nice fat 7lb ling, and a 6 3/4lb one right after. Only caught 2 pike, the first was my usual hammer handle, the second was a nice fiesty 8lb'er that hit so hard it cracked the fore grip on my rod, took a couple of hard runs before finally giving up.





All in all, a great day.

Sounds like an excellent day out CMM, and thanks for posting the pics there great! Gotta love them hard hitters (other than the expense on gear,lol) always seem to come when your not expecting "em"!
