Ice safe in Northern York County area
« on: Dec 20, 2010, 02:30 PM »
I have a house on Great East Lake I hoping to fish on Wednesday probably not on Great East but one of the surrounding lakes and ponds. Just wondering if anyone has been fishing around there and how thick is the ice. Especially if anyone has been to Great East. I was there on Friday and there was like 2 inches on the north shore with reports of 3 1/2 inches on the south shore. But it can be spotty at Great East. Think really cold temps. ;D

Also they are forecasting a bit of snow for this part of maine will that have a big effect on the growing of the ice thickness.
