Pachuag 2/20
« on: Feb 21, 2010, 06:23 AM »
Went out with a buddy yesterday. We had a total of 9 flags for one fish, which was caught on the biggest live shiner I had. It was hooked deep so I got it back in the water without a weight or length. My guess is low to mid 30 inch range. The company and the food were great, but the ice is really starting to deteriorate... hope we get snow instead of wind on Tues...
Here she is:

Not a huge fish, but a very good fight. Be careful out there : )

Yeah, sorry, meant snow instead of "rain". I guess I had wind on the brain (does that make me an airhead) because we were getting blown around steadily all day. We had 6 heavy duty ice anchors in the portable and still had issues.
Looks like they're calling for more rain, but hope springs eternal. A couple degrees cooler on Tuesday could make all the difference in the world. I've been lied to many times this year by weathermen. Maybe they'll be wrong again.
If not, it'll be back to the soft water

No, the bass is from October, :) just trying to remind myself that ice out is not the end of the world.

Ya I am hoping that its all snow or even better sleet. I have a small brook in my backyard, and once we got about 5 inches of sleet and I was able to walk on my brook that was about 8 inches deep. It wasn't frozen just clogged with sleet.

We had some holes with 7 inches of ice and a few with 4.  The channel is opening in some unusual places this year. Very sloppy conditions by the end of the day.
