Anyone ever use an old spoon on a tip up line,  use it as a weight, instead of split  shot,  it would aslo act as an attracter/flash  aswell.  I think I'll try it.

I do it all the time, on both live and dead bait for Pike.  With live bait, the swimming action jiggles the spoon and causes light reflection.  I use metallic, or bright Flo colors because Pike are curious. One of my favorite rigs is a 1 OZ Chartruse/Gold spoon with a wire dropper of 6" terminating in an Owner Stinger treble.  I suspend a large Shiner on it dead or alive.  Works great!
Catch.Reel.Release...R epeat as needed.
