fish tv
« on: Feb 01, 2010, 09:42 AM »
I just bought a fish tv from gander mtn,on the box it says does not include battery, well when I got it home and opened it up I thought it felt a bit heavy for just the monitor.well I was right there was a battery allready in it and was charged up.now did I get one that may have been returned? the floor model? it doesn't seem like it was used and also there was a packet of amsoil 2 stroke mix in the box?the camera seems to work fine although I haven't had a chance to put it in water has anyone bought 1 of these that also had the battery in it. by the way its the fish tv 7 it has a video port and that's why I bought it but now I'm unsure if I want to keep it or take it back because I suspect that it was used, what would you do?

That is kind of strange, they are shipped less the batteries.

I would try it this weekend. Was there clear plastic over the screen when you opened it?
Were all the books still sealed? You may be ok.
Sorry I posted batteries because, you'll get so use to using it if one battery goes dead you will want a back up.
I quit fishing last week because I did not fully charge my battery camera quit (bummer) its addicting, I have learned that most of the times it takes longer than 8hrs to charge it back up.
Fished from 7-5 on a full charge before with no problem in a shanty.
I have the Fishtv7 it has been working great had a problem with the on / off switch Gander replaced last night.
It was still working could not get it to turn off easily switch was sticking .
I have a feeling that Nature Vision has gone out of business, another person posted yes to this.
That will be a problem if service is required at a later time.

tryed the camera out the other day and it works fine, that is as long as you don't put it so the screen is facing up,because it kept shutting off, kind of like the power switch was sticking as stated above,it works fine when its at a slight angle,so far I'm just getting the hang of using it cant wait until the next time out

You quit fishing because you didn't have a fish cam?

I was informed that Fish TV's are owned by the same company that purchased Aqua-Vu so you have service options if necessary through them.
