(Edit for a cat stepping on the keyboard!)
Hit Quaddick Sunday.
Here's my first keeper sized bass of the year (The one at Bigelow Saturday was just a little guy) I had a circle hook on my tip up and responded quickly but the silly pig still swallowed my hook
at least it didn't get stuck in the gills. So if anyone at Quaddick catches a bass with a red matzuo hook in its throat I caught him first.
I got a few flags, and even saw the sillhouette of a pickerel or maybe a small pike playing with a stealing my shiner. >
It started getting dark so I tied some bells onto my flags so I knew when one of my traps was sprung- unfortunately I didn't know which one until I checked my third trap, lucky the fish was still there and didn't swallow my hook.
I pulled it up, the fish spat out the hook and landed back in the hole. I reached in with grizzly bear relexes and swatted the fish onto the ice! And he was an ugly cuss.
A bullhead, possibly the ugliest bullhead I've ever caught. That didn't keep me from frying him in hot oil though
After the bullhead my gloves and shoes were soaked and I was getting cold so I packed up and went home. I had a pretty good day.
