IM HEADING TO hortonia lake, FOR A TRIP WITH A FEW OTHER SHANTY MEMBERS IN FEB. JUST WONDERING HOW THE FISHING IS IN THAT LAKE AND WHAT TO EXPECT.. AND INFO WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED THANKS ALL....

largemouth bass, northern pike, assorted panfish, state record crappie came out of there. Lots of weeds, you should catch something.

Not sure when in Feb you are going, but if it's the 6th/7th- that's the Hortonia Derby.  It's a small lake and will be VERY crowded for the derby.  FYI

anyone can fish.  cost is low, not sure if it's $10 or $20.  You should be able to get info buy ticket at Tom's bait.

HOW MANY TIP UPS CAN U USE IN VT?

The law says 8 lines on small lakes and ponds (different rule for Champlain) so that could mean any combination of hand lines and tip ups totaling 8 lines per angler.
