I'm at mine right now and added 4x4's to the existing ones. I'm 8" above the ice now so should be all set!

Gorgeous day up here, auger broke though grrrrrrr at least I got the holes done for my tipups. Only was able to set out 2 cusk traps though. I'll be fixing that tomorrow.

Oh and 1 flag so far, no fish iced.

Ron you are great!!

No need though, Sunday is my half day of fishing day, me and my little guy went and I had to get back for my oldests basketball game. Ive got a nice sharp chisel with me at all times, and I had my holes where I wanted them. Like I said, I just didn't get to setout all my cusk traps which was fine.

You should buy a hand auger used as a back up.
You could just leave it in your house for emergencies  .

Plus its fun watching the kids try to cut holes with'em!
