heres what i did................... .i removed the aircleaner and carb assy. also removed the gas tank.cleaned everything out of the bad mixture(25:1) took carb apart and cleaned it out with carb cleaner. checked all screens etc including fuel filter in tank. all were clear. cleaned them anyway. removed and cleaned sparkplug. as i said i have owned this machine for 4 years but it looks brand new. might have gotten a few trips out of her. but she never really ran right. anyway..........put it all back together and filled her up with fresh gas and oil mixed at 50:1. funny how eskimo screwed that up.................... ....primed her and gave her a few cranks. after a few she fired up. at first it was doing what is was doing before..........d**n i thought.but then i forgot i hadnt adjusted the screw on the carb. i took it out to clean that hole. cranked her down a few and whalla!!!!!! didnt want to over do it but have it set so she isnt boggind down anymore and should cut real nice now. in all honesty i cant really say that all it really needed was to be adjusted. bottom line is now i feel alot better knowing that i took this thing apart and now its clean.running on the correct mixture. im going to hit the pond out back after dinner to poke a few test holes.ill let you know. thanks everyone!!!!
Opti2 @ 50:1 is the correct mix. I fix Eskimo and Jiffy, and have used my own eskimo's for years. I always mix em 50:1. Since the invention of new and better oils for 2 cycle, there is no need for more than 50:1.
Opti2 can be used at 100:1, and has been used successfully by many people at that ratio.
