Boots
« on: Dec 14, 2009, 10:57 AM »
Does anyone own a pair of Ice Armor black onyx boots? I am looking for a new pair that is lightweight, warm and non bulky, these look like they fit that description. Just wondering if they are worth the $150 or not.

I found some pac boots @ cabelas.com for 69.99.  They are made by Kamik, in the USA, waterproof, and rated for -40F.  Theres only 1 review, which is 5 stars.  I have been contemplating ordering them.

Order Mickeys (white) they are cheaper and much warmer.

I odered some hunting camo from them this year and it wasn't as warm as I expected, called them up and they said ship'em back and order something that you think would be better. Not sure the policy on footware, wouldn't hurt to call'em and ask

Whale, if they're anything like the Glaciers get 'em.  My feet have never gotten sweaty or cold in these.  They rate them at -100 which is probably overrated but I know my feet like them.

I own these and they are awesome for ice fishing but not for hiking any sort of miles warm as hell.

Got Ice Armor Onyx for Xmas, fit good extra warm so far. I was going to buy Irish Setter Snow Trackers ,but they got mixed reviews at Cabelas product reviews.I have had a pair of Northern Outfitter boots for 11 years (Iditarod style boots)which are definitely the warmest! period, but I had to change them to drive. You can drive with the Ice Armors

Meijer runs a clearance on hunting boots leftover for a significant savings. I got a nice pair two years ago I us for hunting and fishing.  My feet stay warm.

I bought these boots from Cabela's last winter (at full price) and they're the warmest boots I've ever owned. They're on sale now for $60. Also available in women's sizes (which is what I got) and they are far warmer than my Baffin pac boots. I was on the ice for over 9 hours straight last weekend and my feet never got cold at all.

I have a pair of -100 Sorels, got em 15 or 20 years ago and they're awesome. I have been out in -40 weather with no problems with my feet getting cold, now the rest of my body was a different story :o

its been said, but my vote is for cabelas boots. They have some 1200g pac boots that are 100% waterproof for like $60 or so in the bargain cave this time of year.  I love mine, they are toasters.

I got a pair of Ice Armor Onyx boots for Christmas and they are definitely the best I have ever owned. I'm sure there are others that are comparable but the Onyx boots are worth every penny my parents spent on them!  ;D
