Dear List;
I am electrically charged with energy!
For the last three seasons I have been operating my hummingbird fish finder with the disposable 12 volt batteries one gets at a hardware store. Around $12 and they last for about six trips out. Voltage falls down from 11.6 to just above 7 and the finder dies.
I bought a new rechargeable yesterday and the voltage started at 12.7 and stayed there after six hours of use. The fish finder could be seen working better with the consistent voltage. I am headed out again fishing tomorrow and brought the battery indoors to keep it warm over night and will charge it up tomorrow night to see how it functions after a second day's usage. Just thinking, I have the trickle charger,and a power converter for my pickup. I can charge it to and from fishing with two hours in the truck on the road!
TIP: if you are using the throw away batteries, for $22 you can get one to charge, and your fish finder will love you for it.
The light bulb came on today. Some things take a little time to figure out.
