Mazonia South Unit
« on: Jan 09, 2010, 05:55 PM »
Checked out the south unit today with a slow bite. Ponderosa had a sign closed to fishing but went to Monster I believe just west of there. Marked a few shallow and caught a few dinks but nothing to take home. There was a good 6" along the west edge just off the ramp. Does anyone know why pondo was closed? Also any public lakes/ ponds/ kankakee backwaters within 30 miles of Bourbonnais that you can stay past 4:30, bite is just getting hot around then. good luck and stay safe.

The DNR is keeping it closed untill 1-18 for the Bow Hunters? No sense in this but they control this resourse. The Northe unit was opened yesterday.
