« on: Dec 30, 2009, 07:42 PM »
Ok guys, iv'e narrowed it down to two.

1. cabelas predator extreme predator pac boots

                     or

2. cabelas saskatchewan pac boots.

right now i'm using ranger's (?) boots and they are not doing it for me. my feet get cold really fast, even with layered thermal socks.

Wore my new Cabelas Predator Extreme Pac boots for the first time last Sat.  Like you, my feet normally freeze, but they stayed warm all day this time.  They are a bit heavy and stiff, but I adjusted to the weight pretty quickly and hope they will break in a bit.  I also had my XXXL Stabilicers strapped on them.  So far I'm a happy camper.

I don't have any experience with the other style that you mentioned.

I just got some white mickey mouse boots from a military surplus used for 23.00. They work better than any boot I have used. They are great even in slush.

You really can't beat Mickey Mouse boots for warmth or price.

Mickeys are the best boot for the money and will last.  I use mine on the ice and deer hunting.   You can fill will cold water and just take them off and dump out the water and your feet will stay warm, it happened to me deer hunting thought I could cross a shallow river but got a bit deeper than I thought.  Just dumped the boots and put back on and was able to hunt the rest of the evening with temps in the 20's

There are a lot of good boots out there. The fit is most important. On top of good insulation they need to be roomy when you have them on. A tight fit equals cold feet when you sit for a long time.
