The Crappie Candle
« on: Nov 11, 2009, 07:26 PM »
so from what I understand we can't use these here right? It looks like the hooks have to be attached to the light in order for it to be legal. If I'm wrong let me know.

If I'm not fishing or hunting right now, you can bet that I\'m thinking about it!

Email the DNR. They are pretty good at getting back to people with answers in a timely manner.

I am almost positive that it is unlawful to use in MN though. It is pretty cut and dry in the angling methods section.

If I am not mistaken,MN is the only state I have heard of that this is borderline illegal.I believe they call it "shining".

MN has plenty of silly laws and no sense of humor when you violate them. ::)

I am just curious. How can one state out of fifty states consider this some kind of harmful fishing style? This method is used everywhere else and the way I see it as long as the limits are enforced and the people are not seining then why would it matter how you get fish to come to the area your fishing?Do they outlaw attractants?

Attractants such as chum? They sure do!

You cant even toss sweet corn in the water to attract carp. MN is the land of 10,000 laws. :(
