I've stashed some money away to upgrade my ice gear (that has served me well and is still in great shape). I have an 8" Mora (25 years old) that I can still cut 1" per second. I have a 10 year old Vexilar FL-8 SLT with a dual beam and a 5 year old Fish Trap Guide. I'd like to get a power auger since I'm getting into my mid 40's and although my Mora cuts well, once the ice gets over 2' it will wear you down if you move a lot. I'd like a bigger hole too. Also, my Vex is awesome, but I'd like more bottom detail and definition on low power (I haven't fished over 20' in years). Finally, my shack is great, but I need a wisker more room and I'm tired of stooping to get into an out of the door. It's a small complaint but 30-40 times a day can leave me with a sore back. Money really is no object, as long as I really do upgrade. I don't need newer, I need better.
