Pics of my new Scout Fish Trap Light House.
« on: Nov 12, 2009, 06:12 PM »
Fished last year for the first time out of my new scout with the black roof and black interior.  Found most of the times it was too hard to see the spring bobber.  So after reading a post on a guy who got a light house this year and seeing them last year on Clam's web site I decided to order one.  They were only $50.  It came yesterday and I got it on today.  Wow what a difference!!  Its the same material but only a greyish white and it lets in way more light.  Here are some pics of it cause I know I love to look at pics when you other guys post pics of your stuff.  The interior pics were with no flash and it was cloudy outside.  The scale pic is of how much my shack weighs after I removed the seat.  I move around and sit so little I decided to remove the seat and just sit on my bucket when I fish in my shack.  Fin[IMG]

Very nice! These are the first pics I've seen of one and I can see how useful they can be. Good choice! And I'm guessing you have a backup canvas now if anything ever happens to this one. Store it well.

I thought about getting one for a back up, but was worried about having a white canvas on snow covered ice which would have wheelers, snowmobiles, and vehicles on it. It does look nice and bright. I'm supprised that some of the people who build their own shacks don't pick up some of the light house covers off of clam for the $50 I would think that $50 as to be close to the cost to make the canvas covers.

Yeah, it's already put away dry in a plastic bag in the house away from the rodents that occasionally stop by in the garage. Fin

That's why I built my Voyager! I got the canvas for $75. It's not a light house though. The clearance tarps are a good price from clam to build your own or replace a worn out one or like fin did, up grade to what you want.

Plus they also included the rod canopy in grey/white also.  Don't know how they can sell them that cheap.  And it's not a second or of less quality either!! Fin

They sell the lighthouse covers on clearance on Clams website.  They didn't catch on like Clam thought they would.  I fished out of a Yukon that had that cover.  No big deal, but most guys like to be able to sight fish, & it's a little hard to see in a lighted enviroment.  If sight fishing is something you don't do, picking up a replacement cover for $50 is pretty cheap!

I'm guessing that you won't be doing much sight fishing in that... it's pretty neat though, and at 39lbs...wow!

No that's one thing I don't do much of.  To hard on the back staring down the hole all day long.

Yeah, but the only tv screen I like to watch is 46" and either football or baseball better be on.  And I'd have my butt in my cushy lazyboy with a bowl of popcorn and a cold beer!!!  Instead of a ice fishin bucket.  :) :) :)  Fin
