if im on the home pond im apt to cook just about anything. nothing better than setting up traps with the smell of pulled pork cooking away from the night before. have even done bread boules to make bowls for bisque etc. if traveling to another pond its usually reheats of stews chilis, pulled pork etc or fried chourico sandwiches with peppers ansd onions but have even done bacon wrapped scallops, fried shrimp, fried turkey and french fries etc. heres a cook at the home pond, most of the pulled pork was frozen for other trips, cant have too much of it on hand and its easy enough to grab a bag to drop into boiling water to reheat  where ever.

all these sound good, and yummie......i like the idea of pre-cooking, and putting in a bag and boiling it ......  but nothing beats cooking up a meal on newfound lake, and listning to jiggin69 0n 5.5 say "hey whats for lunch?".....and saying "hey jiggin'.......yclmb!!".....hehe

we cook egg, sausage bacon cheese and potato sandwichs in the am, and my Dad digs clams so we cook them up with some of our homemade (and shot) vension sausage, others bring wings, burgers and some bring nothing and need to bum bait. we make them walk in.

I must be the only one who makes pancakes on the ice. You make your batter at home the night before and put it into a big squirt bottle. Little drying pan and some butter and away you are cooking. Top that with some maple cured bacon and some venison chops and that is all I need....breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Oh ya.....45 days or so till I am walking on the hard ice, but who is counting  ;D

Bacon, eggs, toast.
Left over lasagna reheated on the wood stove.
Fresh fried white perch fillets.
Fresh fried eel.
chilli.
venison with onions.
Hot dogs.
Hamburgers.

Great idea on the pancake batter, stalker.  If I remember it, I'll try it.

I bring out the smoker for ribs and pork loins or just use the gas stove for a good pot of chili.

I plan on grilling more this year providing the weather is somewhat decent.

I mounted a spot on the outside of the house for my boat grill. We'll see how that goes. Thinking marinaded sirloin tips, ribs, chicken & steaks anyways instead of in a frying pan. We usually cook seasoned potatos and onions too. Mornings French toast, eggs, bacon (always), sausage, & English muffins. All the while building the perfect turd.

Anywho.....
Just got a propane 4 burner stove / oven combo given to me (for my next house) and that will provide even more options for cooking lasagna, meatloaf, bread, stews, roasts and such.

I really don't see the need for me going home much.

JIGGIN.
i have a mounted table thing for a grill on my shack! it works great! when im fishing. in the morning i like to make eggs and bacon. for lunch usually fry up some spam, make some steak, fry up fish. nothing better than frying up fish on the ice. and almost the same for supper. girlled cheese is also great, and brats and hot dogs work well also
