I just picked up a mint '97 Tundra II LT and a thought occurred to me, that the '98 model was the first with the electronic reverse. I'm trying to figure out how much work it would be to retrofit it onto my sled, if i can find a suitable donor machine or reasonable price on parts. I know I'll need the left handlebar pod, the CDI box and wiring between the two, my question is regarding the secondary clutch. I know the sleds with RER have a different secondary clutch that works in a reverse and forward rotation, would I have to swap the whole clutch or could I just change the helix on my clutch? Do I have to change the entire Stator plate? Any other parts I'm missing? Thanks for the help guys!

If you go to dootalk there is a tundra section and you'll find out pretty fast.  www.dootalk.com  These guys know everything about tundras.
