Hit the lake last Saturday for a while, lots of sniffers but only a couple small biters. I have to break down and get a camera!

Then my auger quit making spark, turns out the small wire that grounds out the ignition (on/off switch) finally shorted out against the cooling fins on the head. It was an easy enough fix but a fine reason to quit early and head to town for a hockey game.

The other lakes further from town are calling my name now, every time I get a big lake trout that's all I think about for the next few trips. Louise or even just Long lake are in my not so distant future.

I hear you tinman. Were heading off to long lake this weekend. I'll be in the Ole red gm with a quickfish6. If you get a wild hair come on out and say hi.

Hit the lake this weekend for the first time in a couple weeks.  Didn't find any big fish, but had alot of smallish char and a few rainbows under us.  Wife switched to an "ant" jig and hit a nice rainbow about 18", and a couple smaller char about 16".  I stayed with the larger profile stuff, hoping to draw something in, and layed a goose egg for the day.  I didn't have alot of confidence heading out, because of the  unstable weather we had towards the end of this week.  Waiting to hear how everyone else did this weekend.
