Pickeral suspended?
« on: Feb 15, 2009, 05:13 PM »
Fished today for Browns.Set traps over 43 to 20 fow 3 to 6 ft. down below ice.No browns but i did catch 2 pickeral 3 feet below the ice in 43 and 33 fow. This seemed very unusual to me that pickeral would be this high in the water column.Has anyone had this experience?

Catch them all the time on my trout tip ups that are set about 10 feet under the ice over
water that is 40 to 80 feet deep. They definately like to cruise around, suspended over deep water.
