New here....for memories
« on: Jan 28, 2009, 05:43 PM »
Hey all!  As you all can see from my name.....I live in Miami Florida.  I just came across your forum and decided to give it a read. Wow....what memories it brings back to me.  I moved to Florida 4 years ago but used to live in Rhode Island and fished there as much as I could and I especially loved to ice fish.  I used to be on Stump pond or Waterman Res. every weekend.  I remember fishing behind the police station or on the big rock behind the small industrial park near Big O's bait shop on Stump.  I miss ice fishing so much.  Seeing all the photos you guys post brings back many many memories of all the years I fished there.  I hope you guys don't mind me popping in now and then to see photos and read your stories.
Being in Florida I havent stopped fishing.  I fish as much as I can in the canals, the everglades and the Big Okechobee for largemouth and peacock bass.  But I really miss the Northern Pike hitting my 8" pike shiner I used to get from Big Bear or R&Y baitshop.  Anybody know how the old guy is from R&Y?  He used to save his biggest shiners for me (lol).  Big Bear had some huge shiners, too.   You guys would love the giant shiners we have down here in Florida. But at $1.00 each you might not like them so much (lol). Your Northern Pike would drool over these.
Well thats all for now.  I'm going to read some more of your stories.  Please post as many photos of Stump pond. Thanks so much for allowing me into your forum.  I'll write again soon.

Good to hear that he is doing good.  Still wish I could stop in to say hello and to drill a few holes into Stump.
