was out there yesterday off the catt for a lil bit(4-7) and I only walked to about 28ft of water. It was very slushy, didn't bring a good set of boots with me and regretted it, froze my feet and got soaked to the knee from walking. Not one step without slush, except for the creek itself. I marked a few fish in 28ft of water in the upper end of the water column, my guess steelhead. Had one bite and take my line but got off at end of first run. Had some marks but that was the only one who was interested, it was on a 3" gold Swedish pimple. So that run was a good little birthday present, but the fish would have been better. I think it may be winding down so be safe for anybody else who goes.

OH and heard reports of limits of perch being caught yesterday, my boss called me up and told me to try it otherwise I wouldn't have went. But didn't walk too far cuz it was late and I didn't have good boots.Talked to few people coming in, some did good, some not so much, then one group had 5 limits, I guess they were in 60ft of water

Great day to be out there getting softer and sloppy but the fish were cooperating. Last day out there for me it's gonna start gettin fugly out there with the east wind tomorrow. Also witnessed a plane crash which kept things entertaining.

Ya I was out off the Catt. Yesterday also it's was a great time fishing , seven of us limited out by 2:00 . All nice fish in 48 fow. Had move around hole jumping . The plane was crazy to see that God there was a guy that put two of his jet sleds under the wheels of the plane , then it took him awhile but he drove it in up the creek to the boat lauch, prop was bent and front of plane was messed up. Just glad no one got hurt but guy was a dumb ass to try to land on slush with wheels. Be safe out there a lot slush and water , today's warm front might do it. Ice in the creek is all jammed up at Versailles bridge all open water above so it won't take long to push threw

Back to "cooking" this weekend and making license plates. Winkleman is stopping in for a quick visit on Saturday. Bringing me some of his wifes famous "seled".  She's killing Babe. Deep fries everything for the poor SOB. Maybe that's why he's 400 pounds and needs everyone to net his fish for him. Plus he can't afford a haircut. Similar to a few guys I fish with when I'm not in the klink.

I fished st pt sat and the slush was any where from 0" to about 12" deep. Made it out to about 54' and marked nothing. No problems with snow mobile but wheeler got stuck a couple of times. Left st pt and went to the catt and did ok. Had move around to get them. Hole hopped in about 100 yard circle to stay on them. Fish today at the catt and did well. Fished from 7 to 1130 caught a limit kept 38 10" to 12.5"er's. If ice holds up will be there next weekend. there is some slushy spots but doable.

Nice fish congrats! Think I`m done for the season was a rough one. How is the ice holding up, and cracks? Was 12 inches last time out. Went to Chautauqua Saturday, had 16 inches but was vastly different from Longpoint, and Mayville where I drilled. Drilled a hole in Mayville, and looked like 6 inches of white ice. Got the scooper to measure, and turned out to be a bunch of clear underneath. Got nervous for a minute.

I'm planning on heading out tomorrow, prob won't get there till around 11 am. Anyone else gonna be out, I'm a walker to . Pretty much straight out in front of the creek or over to the right in front of foxes pt?
Was there Sunday & saw 4 people straight out , walked out on the creek looked a bit unsafe in spots . Is it safe to walk out the creek or use the beach ? Little info on that would be greatly appreciated. Thnx
