Pike rods

Looking to invest in some jigging rods for some pike. I'll be using them with Noreastern's. Most likely will be dead rigging bait but am also looking to do some jigging with them as well. Suggestions on what would be good without over kill or under kill. Line(braid/Mono) suggestions as well please. Just around the corner boys!

I have 4 of the smallest okuma bait rumnners and use them to dead stick for pike or any other type of fish with the nor easters. I love them so much better than tip ups here on Crystal lake for trout and salmon as well as bass and pannies. You can set the bait runner so light they don't even feel the drag. As far as the rods I use medium heavy ugly sticks for the pike.

I use Jason Mitchell Elite Series Big Fish Ice Fishing Rod, 36" Medium-Heavy Action Bait Casting with my Noreasters. The guides spiral up the rods. Gander Mountain sells them for $39. Check them out.

I'm a big fan of the Jason Mitchell rods as well. I have quit a few, ranging from UL to the firm pike rods. I pair mine up with the Tica Cetus reels. Just my opinion but they are some of the best reels I've picked up.

I have the Diawa Triforce Med. 36" I use with my Nor easters for Pike. I have them all setup with braided line.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

I run Jawjackers, but NorEasters are good too.
for pike I like a A 29" HT Polar Fire Blue Ice medium heavy rod with a Abu Garcia 6500 pro rocket with 30# test p-Line flouro clear. Great hook set, awesome backbone, but the flexibility to play the fish close to the hole.
