Ice fishing trip

Hello,
 I was looking do an overnight trip to the saranac lake area with my three kids can anybody reccommend a place that you can walk out your door to get on the ice. They are younger so I want to be able to go warm them up when they get cold. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it is not Saranac Lake, but close!  I recdomend The Red Top in in Tupper Lake.  The owner, Jay, is an ice fishing (and all around fishing) maniac.  Tupper Lake is just across the road.  His number is 518-359-9209.  What more could you ask for than a motel owner who shares your passion and is a hell of a nice guy?  I think you will like it there.
