Yesterday I made a trip to Lake Lenore hoping the ice was thick enough to do a little fishing. After carefully checking I found 8 to 9.5 inches of ice out to 24 feet of water.
This was more than enough for me to pull my gear out and do a little fishing. I started fishing around I:30 and stayed until dark. Two small and 1 medium Walleye for my efforts and a large pike that grabbed a tungsten jig and made a long run . While I was trying to get her back to the hole she became tangled in my tipup line and broke me off. It was already dark and by the time I untangled my mess I was ready to head home. Fun first outing to get the season started.
