First Ice of the year is forming
« on: Dec 09, 2009, 01:49 AM »
Just seen a post on another message with a pic of some ice forming in a cove.  It's coming boys get ready.
If our father had had his say, nobody who did not know how to catch a fish would be allowed to disgrace a fish by catching him.

panfish, don't be afraid to try your things. DCL is a great fishery and all parts of the lake are good to fish. Just get on and punch some holes. Tip your jigs with waxmorms or fatheads and get there early!! If it is light out when you are setting up your gear you already missed the best part of the day.

Thanks to all. The house I am renting is directly across from the lake so easy access. Plan on getting out before the sun starts rising.

Find an experience ice fisherman to go with. You must learn to read ice, what is safe or not. Then you can fish.
Ice fishing is no catch and release sport.
