Caught 10-15 of those today...all on wax worms and a tear drop suspended over the top of trees.  We were targeting crappie and they weren't far behind.

Caught a lot of fish today, kept enough for a small fresh fish fry this evening.

I don't think it's as much about the bait as location.  If you can find a tree pile that is near deepwater or a channel in any of the Lincoln area lakes that are 20 plus foot deep, you will have a chance at a cat.  The structure doesn't have to be deep.  Just in proximity to depth.  When cats are hungry they cruise and have nothing to be afraid of.  They'll leave the comfort of the abyss to hunt a shallow tree pile when hungry.  That is the best time to catch them.  These lakes around Lincoln are stuffed with catfish.  Also Wehrspann is good for Mr. whiskers.
Where's the ice
