Has anyone driving out there yet? Maybe plowed a road for me?

Go cut a hole in the ice an see how thick it is. Don't depend on what other people tell you. They might think it's safe, but you might not.

Only if you want to be in the news. I wouldn't drive out any where yet.

No wobbly pops today. Haven't heard much from there head I g out there Sunday. I'm guessing the sled should be a go at least. I knew it would get attention.

I drove by the launch on Tuesday. Edges were fractured. I did not check thickness at that time as all local ponds to that area had about 3" inches of ice. You may be able to walk on this weekend but it's still going to be a while before driving.

On a positive note. As long as the weather stays cold, they may actually have a Derby there this year.

You used a very important word in your post.

I was on Quabog Saturday with 6 inches. When I drove by 2 days later on Monday night I went by the boat area and there were tire tracks leading out that were too wide for a 4-wheeler. Not sure what someone went out there with but I can't see enough ice forming in the two days to allow vehicles.

Wow, surprised nothing bad happened, or am I too cautious with 6-inches? haha

I fished it sunday morning. My 1st hole 10inches, all my others a little less. When I wrapped up to go a group was chiseling with 1 chisel so I went to them to say hey I have 5 holes over there you can use and the 2 to the left I just had runs on. The 1 hole they had chiseled they said was 7inches but it sounded like they guesstimated. But still I need 14in before I think about driving out there

11" to 12" quater mile out. Heard the cove had about 7". People are driving on it. I think 14" is better too. Be careful out there.

I remember being young and stupid, when I would drive my truck on Quaboag... I also remember my truck sitting on the bottom after going through 10 inches of ice...

I was there not too long ago and there was about 7-9 inches of ice, also there were some spots that were weak, this was maybe 5 days ago, as some other people said there have been snowmobiles going around. Mass website recommends 12-15 inches for a medium truck.
If you don't see me fishing - I'm probably just fishing another pond

Insulating snow impedes ice formation so be carefull.

hopefully, the hole that you pop is the one your truck is going through
