Saratoga vs LG perch - different races??

Am I just imagining it or are the Lake George perch significantly different from the Saratoga Lake perch.  Saratoga lake perch seem to get much fatter (mostly eggs), have bigger mouths, and much larger scales.  If you clean a big 'Toga perch you can hardly get the knife to cut through the scales.   Lake George perch tend to be skinnier, although they get almost as long. 

I wonder if the available feed has shaped these differences.  LG perch seem to gorge on scuds, Saratoga on minnows and baby gills. 

On a different note, maybe I ought to start targeting Jack perch.  They have more meat, and probably aren't as important to reproduction as the females.

The same thing happens with Bass. In some lakes, the bass have no teeth. Its like a very fine grit sand paper. This hasto do with their diet of eating alot more crayfish and bugs then baitfish.

While in other lakes, the bass have teeth that will tear you open. These lakes the bass are feeding on Shad and alewives.

Its like comparing Champlain bass to Sacandaga.

you guys need to get out bass fishing more often then if you think some lakes that hold bass dont have more fine, pointed teeth then other lakes that have more course ground ones.

Don't get started with racism on perch.  The next thing you know the Saratoga perch will be offended.  The Lake George perch will be accused of playing the race card.  Then the Saratoga perch will want affirmative action.
