Thinking about taking a vaction day on friday, I really need to know
how much crap we have on top of the ice.I have a long walk! Thanks.

Last I heard there was about 5" of ice out there.  With all this snow I'd be careful.

I fished three lakes in northern oakland yesterday and all had 3" of nasty slop on them.  My feet were soaked.
