I read a report on a website from a bait shop at bay of quinte and they said they had mud minnows.  What are mud minnows?  Is that a fathead?  Or a different minnow?  Never heard of a mud minnow.

I believe it's just a common dace minnow.  They're typically under 3" and usually dark brown or black.  Last time I was at Skevy's they had golden shiners and dace...

Good for you Jeff.  From everything I have read you are a lucky one.  Looking to come up next weekend and with the weather forecast for the week looks like ice should be in great shape.  Of course we get some more unexpected weather.
