i felt sorry for u when I seen u bought a Polaris wheeler sleds r good but some of the wheelers r lacken

He gets that 500 set up right and it'll be tough to beat.  There will be times that it won't do the job on the ice, but they will be few.  And he'll have it for all those other times all year long.   ;)

I'm frustrated enough I was surfing the web & YouTube yesterday for ideas on new tackle.  Found some odd looking perch jigs used in open water.  Ordered $35 worth ::)
If at first you don't succeed go spend more money and throw something else down the hole.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on this great thread.  I'm a first time poster, long time looker, though.  This is my first season fishing Oneida lake and only second season of ice fishing.  Anyway I've read a lot on this thread, and been following on lots of ideas i got from here.  I've been fishing at Lewis point most of the time.  I've been using jigging rapalas naked and tipped with minnows, jigging spoons, small jigs tipped with spikes.  Not having a lot of luck with walleyes.  Do OK on perch, by my standard, which is probably a lot lower then others.  All perch I got came from 7-9 FOW.  So, this season I caught one keeper walleye early January, and nothing since, and I've been going at least once a week.  I went out yesterday afternoon,  By the way did fine on my 4 wheeler, no chains, stock tires/wheels.  Didn't get any bites, moved 3 times.  The battery was dead on the flasher so I couldn't see what depth I was in, per navioncs app high 20's FOW.  Few questions for people who fish Lewis point.  Anyone has been catching any walleyes there?.  If yes please throw me a bone, help me catch one.  What works there and how deep? Thanks in advance.

Eyes at Lewis have been few and far between. I've caught a couple smaller perch there. It's inconsistent.

Really you feel sorry for him buying a Polaris??  I've had a Polaris 500 since 2005 and now own a 800. Never and I mean never had an issue with either one. H.T set that bad boy up the right way and you'll never have an issue with it.

I just don't have time to go to the north shore like I want. Lewis is the closest to me and I want to play with my new flasher  :P I'll be happy if I see fish.

Going to get real fun out there....just upgraded from an advisory to a warning now.  National weather service saying 6-10" now.   Guess I'll be stuck plowing, hope to make it out Sunday if I'm not stuck in a loader like the past few days.  Hope you guys keep reporting how slow the fishing is, that will help ease the pain ;D

Don't buy the hype. The weather channel is sticking with one inch for syracuse.  I salted all my properties today, I really hope it holds off the accumulation or it was a waste of a ton of salt. Literally.

Fished chapmans today. Worst day if the year. Went out 1.25 miles to 38 FOW to a cord from last year. Struggled to say the least.
It'll eat.

Watching news right now. 7" to 14" in Rome. Almost
Covers the eastern end. 6- 10 towards the west . I like how general
They are. Could mean 0" to 4 feet. Geez thanks. I noticed even on
The hump at Lewis it was slow. Lotta lookers but tight lipped.
Headed out of apps again tomorrow. Found a fresh 30 pack on
My door for valentines Eve. Man I love myself. Tight lines to all.

I will see you out there.  Finally a day off and nothing planned. Got a new tip down, jig, and minnows in the am.  Please fish, let me find you! Will be bringing beer, lays and redbull!

Tonight will tell the story.  The computer models are showing odd pockets of heavier snow.  Almost like the rain & storm shadows that occur on the tug during summer or fall storms.
Keep fingers crossed the hills on the south shore actually do that.  Otherwise real rough weekend.
With these temps the snows very wet so while it won't add up as quickly, the wind won't blow it down or away either.
Cold behind the snow tomorrow may just crust the top making travel nasty.
Keep fingers crossed!
The thaw next week maybe just what we need!

I agree Phil! No matter what machine anyone buys, it's going to have it's advantages and dis-advantages. Doesn't mean that the biggest or the one with the biggest motor is going out-perform the others. Personally, the machine that HT bought has been a great machine for many years. I'm certain He'll get many good years out of it. I bought a Grizzly back in '06, still looks like new and runs like new. ANY machine will perform and last if you take care of it. Some praise towards people who bust there butts for a living to own nice things goes a long ways!! ;) Great machine HT, enjoy it bud!! ;)
you are right in that statement that every machine has its limits. i chose this one because i can use it year around, a sled has its advantage but it also sits in the garage for at least 9 months out of the year ::) ::) besides i have some very good freinds that dont mind pulling me out there with there sleds if there is too much snow. by the way most of the time when there is too much snow for a machine like mine the fishing sucks anyway like now ;) thanks KP and Phil @)

The weather is gonna be in a roller coaster for the next week and a half. Snow maybe for this weekend and next weekend we might be testing which suit floats better with the warm up coming. We can't win but maybe a change is what the lakes needs to jump start the bite again. Fingers crossed.
