Hey diehards, when specifically targeting perch do you use tip downs or do you just jig for them. Thanks
I don't use them but fish with someone who kills them on tip downs and large buckeyes. Funny part is when I am getting them jiggin his tip downs are slow. When the jiggin slows down his tip downs pick up. There are days I can't buy a bite and his tip downs go all day. It does need to be a light wind day above freezing or the difficulty level rises fast.
Is there a place to park and bring a sled out of maple bay?
alot of us dont use tip down because we dont come out of our shantys much. they can be very productive at times i like catching them on jigs more plus i want to watch my graph
Going out Thursday off Lewis Point. Is there still enough snow for a sled or has the wind blown it all away?L
Thanks have caught most of my perch on tip downs since i started to learn this lake but was wondering what the pros did. thanks again.
Weekend is looking good, it's gonna feel like a heat wave. Anybody know how big the drifts are out there, my friend wants to know if he should bring his 2 x 2 wheeler or his sled. I would just tell him to bring his sled but it is kinda of a beater.
Kind of a lurker but in the way of like a person gets attached to a reality tv show. I would have to have the time to use this info to feel guilty about not contributing. Anyway, been to Chapmans a couple times and was wondering if anyone knew of a spot to park on the south shore about 10am this weekend. Since that's about when I can get my kids to the lake with an hour drive. Can bring the wheeler and get places. Just don't want to get up there with no where to park. Thanks!D
I don't think the south shore launch fills up, not far from chapman.
small drifts Matt 4-5" , rougher than a cob ,but the snow is like concrete slow day for me ,where I was fishing they moved like they had a lead weights attached to their tails , caught 5 eyes and one 8 striper, ice was 12" on the button
icemanshort walk to deep water and then start searching good luck
Hm..... I smell a tip down challenge happening soon Mr Chummer. I'll see if I can help out that fish fry for you tomorrow buddy.
Heading out tomorrow. First time in a whole week. Been dying to get back out there!
