Saw three sleds just north of Frenchmans this afternoon and my neighbor has ridden his out to Dunhams island a few times. A bunch have been running between Williams and lower south bay.

Some real nice fish guys. Fished the North Shore today trying to target perch. Found some, not exactly suicidal, but could be coaxed into hitting. Ended up with about 15 with some nice ones in the bunch. Stopped by Apps and talked with Rick for a while. Real good dude, great selection of lures and, as everyone knows, some great buckeyes. Big crack running from Jewell out past Cleveland and headed towards the south shore somewhere. Gonna be a lot of fun  ::) crossing that one this winter.

A couple questions. I am from Buffalo, planning an ice fishing trip in mid February. I was gonna book a place on drive 10 off the 49. Is there good ice fishing in that area? I would like to go right out onto the ice from the home we were going to stay at. Also, where is a good bait shop around there? Thanks in advance

I have been fortunate this year HT. Of course taking a week off work, first ice and the weather do play an important role. What amazes me is how the perch were just attacking the presentation....not to speak of the eyes. This Lake is healthy!!!
When I go fishing I like to know that there's nobody within five miles of me.

Went out the South Shore this morning with my boy and his friend along with Racer....nice to catch up with you. Bite was slow, grabbed a couple of keepers and then moved to the West. Picked up a couple more keepers and put back plenty of small ones. Ice was great, machines on the lake. She was singing quite a bit. Just a dusting of snow, very slick to walk on.

Pooch,

Good to connect with you out there.  Looks like we have very finicky but larger fish in one spot and smaller but agressive fish in the other.  We'll get out again asap.  I'll be able to stay all day next time.  Your son and his buddy enjoyed themselves.  They're two very nice young men.  Good day all in all.

Was a great day on the lake today with my brother jakep. Checked my pants a few times with the ice shaking and quaking but other than that good. Went back to the basics with the eyes and it paid off big time... Can't wait to try out on our machine spot:) great catches everyone else, lots of fishys out there

Got these on Oneida on Sunday, got out there early and were just loading up the truck when the rain moved in. New personal best for me on Oneida 26" and 6lbs 11oz. We had a really good day caught a lot of shorts but managed almost a full limit for our group.

Nice jet sled full of hogs karas.    So just got my first straight line reel pretty impressed little slower on getting the jig down to the bottom than a open face but not all the freeze ups or curls in the line I'm pretty impressed

Had a great day 1 for 2014. Great walking weather so I headed out to a spot I usually take the machine to. Found lots of fish in the first and only hole I drilled. Ended up icing 7 keeper eyes and dumping a few along with a bucket of slob perch before noon. Couple of machines cruising around out there. Ice was 7-8"s and growing. Saw that there's going to be quite the pair of cracks forming along jewel/cleveland area... should make for some interesting traveling to get over them. Everyone stay safe and have fun.
