New to site. I started ice fishing almost 30 years to date, I remember it was common to go to a lake with virgin ice and not seeing another person. My first personal ice fishing trip I went to Kmart bought a wooded tip up and a 7" Mora hand auger (which I still have today and use all of the time). I headed to Meeboer Lake Laramie WY., excited and not knowing what to expect, I drilled a hole dropped my jig down in the water and instantly a large fish bit the jig and broke my line. Being my first outing I only had 1 more jig, I tied it on dropped down the hole and "Wham" another big fish nailed the jig breaking my line. Less then 5 minutes of fishing I was done, but hooked forever.
