The ice we are fishing on is around 10-12 inches thick. Clear black ice and the one i got yesterday i could see it rolling around under the ice 2 feet to the left of my hole. The fish are so fresh from the lake that they are real silver like that. They are pretty arent they????Did i mention I LOVE THE SLAMMER!!!!!!!
i still can't get how shiny and healthy those fish look
great lookin fish, especially the 9 pound brown. you can love the slammer all you want though, i still dont think its worth $30 plus wood and a rod. maybe i'm just cheap and simlpe
yeah, i was just on their site. its $33 for the prebuilt, and $14 for the kit. still too pricy for me. i'll stick to my HT windlass and polars. plastic so they dont rot or break, orange so some nutcase on the ice doesnt hit em!
awsome
Bought the kit 2 weeks ago and have put a few together. Bought my own hardware and tweeked the design a little to make it more user friendly. The directions and the design are great and I can't wait to get on the ice to use it. Took it to work and caught a few out of the raceways at work to see it in action but it's not the same as chasing a flag on the ice. My only question is should I bend the eyelet of the rod more or spread the base apart further or closer? The ring seems to be way to sensitive and pulls free at the slightest tug. I don't want the action to be too stiff. I also don't want to be out there messing with it when i should be fishing. Has anyone tweeked them out and maybe throw a hint my way thanks in advance.Fish.it
Probably what some guys said when the wheel came along I think I'm going to get some for next year for some of the big bows ( 30 - 37 inch range) we have up here. I see them on the flasher and they just sit there and fin and won't bite. Probably spooked by my slight movement or something just not right. We catch up to 27 inches but anything over is real spooky. I think these might be the ticket for big bows. Anyone use these for lakers? Ours seem to like lots of movement. Just wondering how they would work for them? Can't use fish of any kind as bait where I'm from .
