Caught a 24" pike and 15" smallie, using reg poles on homemade slammers 1-4pm, good ice 5". Hope the warm up won't effect tomorrow.

I live on 18th. Looks like im gonna have to find that gravel pit... ;D. I hit a gravel pit right by port sheldon and cottonwood back behind the old target. Didnt have much luck. The ice was kinda iffy and i was alone so i didnt get to move around too much.

Is there a good place to pick up bait over by the pits? I was thinking of heading there this weekend.

OK thanks me and the old man will be heading up north where the safe ice is.  Hopefully the ice in town will be safe soon so i don't have to keep going up north.

I emailed the Outdoorsman and ask about bait but Im guessing it just wasnt important enough to answer. Thanks for the heads up on Meijer gas station. Never knew it.

Where can I get minnows around here? I used to get them from Gander but with that not being an option anymore where else can I go?

Any reports on the ice? Think this snow is going to screw things up?

It's the last one at the end of the road you'll see the park sign.

I've haven't see anyone out lately so I would assume the ice is still shakey at best.

I saw a shanty on the far north end of the pond on the northside of 12th Ave on Saturday but that was it.

I just finished fishing it (Pit at the end), the ice was around 8 inches out front of the so called launch. It was mostly white ice. 2 inches of soft stuff. Another fisherman said around the pole it was not good. I did see 4 guys walk from the other side headed in.

Must of firm up since sat. I had 1-2 wacks of the spud. There was 6" of slush on 2-3" of grayish ice so that makes sense.
