How's everybody doin'?
« on: Oct 30, 2009, 08:20 PM »
Hey SD dudes! Anybody got ice yet? I heard some of the eastern prairie dams are starting to ice up. Nothing on the Black Hills lakes yet, but the water temps are low 40's to 40.

I went around the lakes in the hills yesterday, even managed to catch a couple of fish. Including a 12" perch on a 7 inch bass worm! At stockade by custer. Anyway, there is ice forming at the inlet at sheridan, and mitchell lake is about 1/4 froze. Mitchell lake is a really small pond really, but the ice looks thick enough to walk on.

I wouldn't have been able to reach the ice, too much thick growth around it. I do still use the ol spud though.

No ice around here yet. I'm gonna do a bit of dock fishing in the next day or two.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I read where Nov maybe warmer than usual, not a good sign for the hard water anglers.
