I got out on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday on Jenny-John and we got into a mess of lakers all in the 5 - 7 lb range. And more jack than we could keep up with. Started out in about 55' and about 3' off the bottom with a 5-OD dressed with a ciscoe. Hit a 5lb'er right off the mark and the reels stayed heated up all day. Moved toward shore for a little warm up and some lunch, so we poked some holes up close to the edge in about 20'. Couldn't get my lunch eaten due to running for lines.

Sunday was horrible. Stayed a little closer to home and hit Bluefish. High winds and no fish made for a crappy day. Saturday made up for it though!

Nice going!!!
Yeah, I had already decided that Sunday was to be a couch day after looking at the forecast.
Those winds had to be pretty brutal.   :o

Looks like this Saturday is going to be a beauty.   :)

I got sorted out by my Minister of Finance and Domestic Operations - No fishing this weekend for me. I have to get my Honey-Do list down to one page before I'm allowed out of the yard.

On a higher note though - I pulled the trigger on a sled! Bought an '03 Polaris Trail Touring. Good shape and the price was right. I pick it up after next week! Now I have to get my hands on a toboggan to haul all my crap. Keep your eyes open for me wouldja?

We're low on snow this year.
It doesn't help that we live in a semi arid region.
We are on the dry side of the mountains and most of the moisture drops before it gets over them.
We generally get most of our snow (lake effect) in October and November before Great Slave freezes.
After the lake freezes we get  1/2" here an inch there. It never melts though so it does add up over the winter.

Low snow sucks!!! The trails are crappy and the ice gets really thick!!!!
It's about 4' thick on Slave now.

Interesting. Our snow is definitely our salvation as far as ice thickness is concerned, although the last few winters have been warmer. I can certainly see with your temperatures and no snow how 4 feet of ice is possible. Thank God you don't have to rely on an old spoon auger.
