Lake Mary ronan

Headed up to lake Mary Ronan for the derby next weekend. Never fished for perch before, but I understand there is a very healthy perch population up there. Any pointers on jigs, bait, etc? And how's the ice up there? Thanks for the help:)

You need a location put in your "Location", as the 58,000 members here have no idea where you are speaking of.... ;)

I'm working in Kalispell for the next few weeks and had a Fella tell me that Mary Ronan was a great place to catch perch.. The Derby is next weekend? I might have to stay in Kalispell next weekend instead of heading back to Great Falls.. Id have to ask someone to pop a hole for to jig from..

Yes BUT...in years past certain folks who fish the Perch Assault tournaments would lurk around, GPS ing holes where the kids caught their lunkers, utilizing this as a "pre-fishing technique" LOL...you KNOW who you are...!!!

The Snappy's event is a GREAT time, for all, and they give away a ton of stuff to young and old alike, categories for just about every age, and just a greaT get together.

Fished lake mary ronan last night for salmon and the lake had about 16 inches of ice and about 10 inches of snow on it. Not a perch fisherman so cant help you there. A flasher with a dropper works good for the salmon. Tip with maggot or corn. Goodluck :)
