Any day I leave the lake with a smile on my face,  might be spending time with good friends, watching a sunset on one of Maine's great backdrops, helping to introduce somebody else to the sport,  or one of a hundred other things.  Catching fish doesn't hurt. ;D
Its not a passion its an obsession

peace and quiet or with friends, fish or not i just love to be outside. caught almost 80 fish today between flags and jigging i could'nt have a cup of coffee for a while! and to be able to shot shots like these are always a plus

and my tribute to the shanty
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish.

a beautiful sunrise, or sunset, big fat snowflakes, big thermos full of coffee, and coming home safe and sound, with a bucket of fish to clean in the AM and a hot meal waiting on the table.

catching fish is a plus, but spending time with the people i love while there still around is what means more than catching a bunch of fish.
Girls fish too.

Being out there. As well as catching a few fish.
I like fishing. No point trying to argue.

I love just being on the ice, catching a pile of fish is a bonus, can't say much about it being quiet as my favorite has an interstate running through the middle of it and it is never quiet.

WOW how does that effect the fishing do you have to work harder for them to notice your jig?

There's a lot that I prefer, but I keep it simple: any time I'm on the ice is a good time ice fishing.

The employment of effort, hard work, time, and energy put in locating fish will offend noone.

I dove hard into ice fishing this year .Bought a flasher and flip over . Took my Dad ,who's 74  now , ice fishing .Who hasnt  ice fished in a long time . Teaching him how to read the flasher and catching some gills . It was good time . It reminded me of him taking me fishing when I was younger ....

It's all good to me, anytime I get a chance to fish, hardwater or soft. But anytime I manage to be on the ice for sunrise is the absolute best.

I think all the pictures have hit the nail on the head. Just seeing the sites is good enough for me! i've always had fun while ice fishing...except once...but I won't get into that now.

Southwest Wyoming. My lake runs into utah and the state record for wyoming came out of this lake at 50 lbs...and on the utah side it's 51 lbs. the ones I have pics of are serious dinks.
