|I have a Humminbird ice 35 I bought about 7 years ago. Late last winter, the charger stopped working. My son pick up another charger for me, voltage was the same, but it's a 3 amp instead of 2 amp. I noticed the charge time went from a couple hours to less than 1/2 hour.
Early this winter, the original battery gave out. I replaced it with a similar battery designed for home alarms. Worked well for about a dozen outings, but now, when I run it for more than 5 hours, it dies one me.
Don't know if it's a bad battery, or not designed to be fished used in the cold. Or possibly an issue with the charger being too powerful and destroying the batteries.
Any tips?
