Thanks guys! He pulled up more than me today. He's quick to the flag..... we had just set the trap and walked away 5 min later he was like I'm going to check the bait I said no leave it let it sit a bit. He keeps on and on he's looking at it there's a fish I said no the flag didn't pop just wait be patient. He pulls the trap starts pulling it up boom nice pickerel. ..... told ya dad you don't have to wait for the flag. I just shook my head and waved the white flag.

Lmao!!!! Sounds like me 20 years ago. So did it hit on the retrieve or did the flag get put on the wrong side?

Great report and congrats on wetting a line!! Being only 17, i can still remember going out 10 years ago for some of my first trips on the ice.. Went out on winnisquam when i was real small with my dad, could barely pull our sled to the spot, nevermind move my legs in the 2+ feet of snow. The good ole days. Glad to see your son likes the hardwater too!
