Been on Sylvan 3 times so far.  Nothing great to report, so I didn't ;)  Did manage to clean 14 decent ones last Saturday morning.  I was still good and solid then but getting pretty sloppy on top.  I've only been out at GSP.  Don't know about anywhere else on the lake.    Hack.
Tight lines everyone!

I fished Sylvan for a couple of hours last Saturday afternoon.  The bite was slow... only caught a couple of keeper gills. No one else in the vicinity (opposite shore from the GSP Memorial) seemed to be doing very well either. I would have moved around more, but it was my first time on the lake and I am not familiar with it yet.  I saw people fishing in other areas, but I'm not sure how they did.
Catching the lunkers of tomorrow today!

Piggyn There are a number of places to fish there.  Out on Gene Stratton Porter you can go right (South) a ways and there will be a bay on your right.  Out in front of the mouth of that bay or in the mouth of the bay can be good at times.  The fishing can be good if you keep going South.  There is a small island, called chicken coop island out in front of a point they call the Antlers. They call this part of the lake the Southgate. I have caught fish across this area.  If you turn left when you walk of GSP there is bay on your left that can be good too. If you go back out on Indiana 9 and go north then   turn right on Northport road. about the third intersection you turn right, go to where the road t's and turn left to the end of the road there is a parking area at Brady's Landing,  There is a restaurant there called Granny's that is closed in the winter. You can park there if there is room.  That basin of the Lake is called the Gravel Pit.  See where the guys are fishing.  Sometimes they fish right out in front of the landing and sometimes all the way across the lake.  PM and we'll go!

Went to Sylvan yesterday for about 1 hour caught one fish. Plenty of ice fisherman
too! Most I have ever seen on one body of water. Can't speak for them but the
dozen or so guys around us didn't have anything. Between the three of us we
caught 3 :( So then we went to Chain O Lakes and caught 4 on Long and about
30 on Norman.
Fish on!

Terrieb80, the ice was in great shape. Very slippery!!!! :o I have only fished there once through open water. I think you are good for a day or two ice wise. Depends
on how much rain we get. Good luck!
Later Greg
Fish on!
