Got on the water about 10am with the ice looking a bit "iffy" with some slush spots around. Walking out to the shelter village in the distance I did drill a few holes at the slush spots and found about 4" of clear underneath them. Ok so proceeded to the village and set up shop. Got many gills in the 7" range and a few for dinner over 8". Surprised to see as many bass, broke some lines with some good 16-17" ones (most of the bass in the 12"-14" range) on the 2lb test rubbing on the ice hole bottom. Was alot of fun for sure.
Don't think the ice will hold for the weekend, that slough is kinda like a river backwater with the channels running through it. That ice will melt from below with the rain runoff entering from all directions. Might just want to wait till mid-to end of next week and let the cold work it's magic fix on the repairing the ice.
