whites at pigeon ..where are they ?
« on: Dec 23, 2018, 02:43 PM »
Going to target Whites this year for the first time in 20 years.
Have a few walleye takes to fill so maybe try for whites also .
So are the whites all over the lake or is one side better than the other ?

I have never really targeted white fish or fished for them to much, but I have caught them by the island in SE end, off Crystal Springs in shallow and on the edge of the drop, fairly shallow off Mulhurst. Snapfisher is the master out there for whites, he may post a couple pointers for you.

Go out to the deep,  doesn't  really matter but straight out of the PP in 30 FOW  is  a  good start.  Jig a small silver or  gold Kastmaster off the bottom,  bouncing it in the mud then hold about 6 inches up,  then  repeat.

You will have to move a  bit to find a concentration of  fish,  but when you get on them  it can be pretty good.  Tricky part is getting them up the whole from the deep and the bigger the easier it is.
