Rod case
« on: Oct 04, 2006, 11:29 AM »
I'm looking for a hard plastic ice rod case. anyone have any suggestions? I've looked at the one that otter makes, but that's a little more than I want to spend.

Here is the best ice rod case I have been able to find.  I've used mine for 3 years and it has held up unbelievably well.  A little spendy, but you get incredible quality with it.  Here is a link:

You could look at the Stone Legacy cases but they are semi hard/soft padded. If you want a hard case and don't want to spend alot look into arrow boxes .... I did that years ago.  ;)

Lonewolf, do you have one that you recommend or are they all about the same?

I just went halves on a deal that Stone Legacy has going on their Reveloution rod case. It looks like it will work well but only time will tell. The deal is 2 for 80 bucks with no shipping. As Lone Wolf stated, their not a completely hard case but it seems like you would have to "TRY" to break a rod while being stored in it.

I've had the Revolution case for I believe three seasons and I love it. Mine stays in my Trap during transport and keeps the rods riigged, seperated and protected. They also have straps on the backside to use it in a back pack fashion.

Frabill has a nice ice rod case in their catalog and on their website, the only problem is I have not found one yet. I guess I'm going to have to go to a Frabill dealer and try to order one. Has anyone seen the case before? :-\

you could try something like this http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=31900.0 Its an improvement to the style I amde where I used Golf tubes as my rod handle holders :)
