although that is a very good question just how many ice shanty members are from or in rhode island I wonder if the moderator could answer that question I know we have several sand baggers

Was at stinkin Lincoln this week with my kid...it stunk alright! Can't wait till the gates are locked and the losers stay away for the winter

Look forward to see you again this winter. Oh yeah She is 4 years old now. Im will take her out this year. I need keep her busy around on the ice know ya while waiting catch a fish. Last year, My wife did bring her out on the ice to visit me while Im doing ice fishing same time my daughter and wife doing snowshoes around the lake but sucks didnt catch any fish while they with me, didnt stay that longer (that day kinda really coldest and windy day) when they left and I catch some fish, darn my daughter didnt see fish. I want my daughter experience but There plenty of many years in ahead. Also Last year upgrade the heater for shanty so Its will keep so toasty. Im hope my wife will stay with me ice fishing so I can set up 10 holes lol.

Nice pictures, CharoS10! My daughter is 4, too. Got a bunch of jigging rods, and I told her one is officially hers. We even used it to catch a bass this past summer in open water. Definitely getting her out on the hardwater this year. Last season I took her out on the ice a few times, but only to check things out, not to actually fish.

Flatland, Thanks. Cool. Same as here last year just show her around the ice to get idea. This year Im try get her to fishing. Last summer She did fishing but nothing to catch fish.

Maybe this winter we can get together so our girls can have fun around keep busy each other or something. I really cant wait get back on the ice!

Last year my wife bought ice skate for my daugther and its have 2 blade to help balance better but saying need to sharp it up before use it, so We tried called hockey store around and They say cant do that and never heard of that before. I was like huh. I still not sure if I should go ahead try it see if she will skate it. I grew up on the lake and I did asked my mom if She remember that when I was little boy and the skate is sharper, My mom say cant even remember that. LOL. I always skate on the ice, I enjoy more skate on hardwater than ice arena.

trout and pan fish mainly for me sometimes bull head and always like a walleye when you can get them

Pretty much the same for me. I look to just get into action the first 2 weeks and then its on for trout and panfish. Love jigging.

Well I always try to get bass and pike and end up with perch and pickerel lol my two biggest bass have been through the ice the last two years in a row lets go 3 for 3
